Homereading and
Library Books
* You are
financially responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged books. If you have any
outstanding books or fees at the end of the year you will not receive your
child’s report card, until those balances are resolved.
Homereading: We will start homereading books next
Monday 9/24.
These books are to be read nightly, initialed on the half sheet insert, and
returned daily. They come in a ziplock bag with your child’s name on the front.
Your child will receive a new book when the old one is initialed and returned.
Help
your child by reading the book to him/her the first time, and having them read
it back you to a few more times. Have them point to the words as they read.
This is a great way to get your 20 min. of reading in every night! If you feel
your child’s book is too hard, or too easy, come talk to me and we’ll change
their level.
If
you have volunteered to help with homereading books please come within the first 15 min. of class on
your assigned day next week to be trained.
Library: We have started going to the
library. For the last two weeks we have kept our books in our classroom to
teach the children how to use them, take care of them, and be responsible for
them. Next week I will let the children take their library book home with them.
Please make sure your child brings their library book back to school every
Monday so they can get a new book. Below is a little sign you can post on your
fridge to help you remember.

My Kindergarten Library Day is MONDAY.
